Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee repairs and maintenance at assigned site(s). You will manage custodial/maintenance staff, evaluate work orders with the Maintenance Director, and liaise with contractors to ensure safe, cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Licensure in one or more fields such as electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
• Clean NYS Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least Five (5) years of experience in renovation, construction, and building maintenance for a large scale employer with multiple sites with at least Two (2) years experience functioning in a supervisory capacity.
• Working knowledge of building trades and systems including electrical, HVAC and fire safety.
• Background in HVAC and Fire Safety Systems.
• Familiarity with housing building and safety codes.
• Ability to use common tools, materials, and equipment, and to climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintains property in good condition, in compliance with building codes and safety standards.
• Supervises maintenance and custodial staff and Projects Team to carry out repairs and projects.
• Monitors contract compliance for external physical plant projects.
• Performs necessary repairs as needed.
• Trains subordinate staff and participates in hiring, disciplining, and performance evaluation.
• Maintains knowledge of service contractors and coordinates work.
• Develops and executes plans to keep sites within agency expectations.
• Maintains a schedule of general maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
• Troubleshoots and responds to emergencies.
• Performs other duties as requested.
