Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village in New York is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to supervise repairs and maintenance across assigned site(s). The role ensures safety, code compliance, and cost-effective operations while supporting the Maintenance Director.

You will manage custodial staff, review work orders, coordinate with contractors, and schedule preventive maintenance; respond to emergencies and ensure facilities remain clean and safe for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Licensure in electrical, plumbing, or general construction.
• Clean NYS Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Five+ years in renovation, construction and building maintenance for a large employer with multiple sites; at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Working knowledge of building trades and repairs including electrical, HVAC, fire safety, carpentry, masonry and tile.
• Background in HVAC and Fire Safety Systems.
• Familiarity with housing building and safety codes.
• Ability to use common tools and equipment; climb ladders and work from scaffolds.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and respond to emergencies outside of normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintains property in good condition, in compliance with building codes and licensure.
• Supervises maintenance and custodial workers and Projects Team for in-house repairs and projects.
• Monitors contract compliance for physical plant projects with outside contractors.
• Performs necessary repairs as needed.
• Trains subordinate staff and participates in hiring, disciplining, appraising and terminating.
• Maintains relationships with service contractors.
• Devises and executes plans to meet agency expectations.
• Maintains schedules for general maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
• Responds to emergencies and weather-related events.
• Performs other duties as requested.
