Job summary

Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform skilled maintenance across retail stores and facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and lighting systems while working with minimal supervision.

Your role includes leading small repair projects, mentoring technicians, and documenting work orders and results. This on-site position requires physical stamina and strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of facilities maintenance, retail maintenance, or related trade.
• Certification in at least one skilled trade.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and repair practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot facility issues with limited supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, meters safely.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations.
• Stand/walk up to 7 hours; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer or mobile device skills for updating tickets.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building repairs including drywall, painting, flooring, ceiling tile replacement, door hardware, locks, shelving, fixtures, and furniture repairs.
• Lead on complex repairs with defined scope, plan, and execution.
• Train and mentor technicians.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues such as leaks and drains.
• Perform basic electrical repairs including lighting, switches, outlets, and sensors.
• Repair and maintain retail equipment, donation equipment, carts, balers, and roll-up doors.
• Respond to urgent facility issues that impact safety or operations.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and inspect facilities areas.
• Document work performed, parts used, and photos; maintain records.
• Communicate status and parts needs with store leadership.
