Job summary

Transformation House is seeking a facilities manager to oversee residential and non-residential sites. The role centers on safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of buildings, grounds, vehicles, and maintenance resources, with hands-on duties and budget oversight.

You will plan work, supervise maintenance staff, manage vendors, inspect facilities, and ensure compliance with safety and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Extensive practical experience in multi-site facilities maintenance, construction, property operations, or related field; supervisory or project-leading experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance; ability to troubleshoot common electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues within licensing limits.
• Ability to plan work, manage vendors, use a digital work-order system, maintain records, and communicate clearly with leadership, staff, residents, and contractors.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurer; ability to satisfy all requirements for organization business driving.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, respond calmly to urgent conditions, and maintain confidentiality and boundaries.
• Required background checks and any screening applicable to the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations across sites; establish priorities and service standards.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance staff; participate in hiring and discipline decisions.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment; identify hazards and address safety concerns.
• Perform and oversee carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC observations, and related maintenance.
• Develop scopes of work, obtain quotes, coordinate vendors, monitor quality and schedule, and approve payments.
• Administer the work-order system; document requests, labor, materials, and inspections.
• Manage maintenance inventory, tools, keys, access devices, and organization vehicles within policy.
• Support annual facilities planning and budgeting; report risks and opportunities to the CEO.
• Coordinate required inspections, permits, and compliance activities; on-call coverage for emergencies.
• Attend required meetings and training and perform other duties assigned by the CEO.
