Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) seeks a Culinary Manager to lead multiple kitchens across Massachusetts, ensuring nutritious meals and adherence to BHN standards. This role oversees culinary staff, drives cost control, and ensures food safety with both on-site and remote supervision.

You will partner with residential and program leadership to address concerns, mentor staff, and maintain quality while supporting ongoing onboarding and retention efforts. Shift: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, with flexibility.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of multi-site supervisory experience.
• ServSafe certified.
• Experience in food preparation within structured settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of labor management and cost control.
• Valid driver\'s license with reliable transportation.
• Two years of sobriety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all culinary staff across assigned sites, including performance reviews and corrective actions.
• Ensure consistent delivery of nutritious, appropriate meals aligned with BHN standards.
• Monitor and control labor, food spend, and prime costs within regional targets.
• Enforce vendor compliance and approved purchasing practices.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and regulatory readiness for inspections.
• Provide on-site and remote supervision to ensure operational consistency.
• Step into kitchen production when needed to prevent service disruption.
• Partner with residential and program leadership to address concerns and maintain quality.
• Support onboarding, coaching, and retention of culinary team members.
• Provide daily operational updates and communicate risks proactively.
