Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Production Department Supervisor to oversee multiple departments and shifts, focusing on cost, profit and production goals. You will train staff, drive safety initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts across the operation.

You will coach and evaluate staff, manage inventory and costs, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards while reporting key metrics to management.

Qualifications

• Post high school education is required.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with 1–3 years in people management.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Safety-focused with knowledge of safety programs and compliance.
• Familiarity with CI, 5S and TPM principles.
• Forklift operation certification and safe handling experience.
• Experience in training and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages production operations of multiple departments and shifts.
• Leads a group of employees and drives maximum productivity.
• Identifies, researches and resolves production problems and opportunities.
• Evaluates performance of individuals and programs.
• Coaches and counsels employees to improve performance.
• Ensures activities align with UFP policies, procedures and law.
• Communicates with employees and management as required.
• Manages department cost and profitability and oversees inventory.
• Leads continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Prepares reports and maintains records as required.
• Participates in Safety Committee and ensures compliance with safety standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
• May operate forklift to assist material movement in production area.
