Job summary

Saelens, a growing precision manufacturing company, seeks a Corporate Production Planner/Scheduler to coordinate schedules across Milwaukee and Johnson Creek facilities. This role will determine when and where jobs should run, balance production capacity, and coordinate with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to meet commitments.

You will maintain ERP planning data, monitor schedule adherence, and drive continuous improvement in production flow.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience scheduling across multiple machines, departments, or facilities.
• ERP or MRP experience; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between Milwaukee and Johnson Creek.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules for both manufacturing facilities.
• Assign jobs to machines based on capacity, capabilities, tooling, labor, materials, and customer requirements.
• Evaluate short- and long-term capacity needs and balance workloads between facilities.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service to review forecasts, customer demand, order priorities, and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to confirm that castings, components, tooling, and other required materials are available.
• Work closely with Operations Managers and Production Supervisors to monitor progress and adjust schedules as conditions change.
• Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, material shortages, and capacity constraints and communicate risks promptly.
• Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings to align priorities and resolve scheduling constraints.
• Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information within the company’s ERP system.
• Track schedule adherence, backlog, capacity utilization, and delivery performance.
• Support continuous improvement of production flow, scheduling processes, system data, and reporting.
• Assist with the implementation and development of ERP planning and scheduling tools.
