Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital in Smithfield, VA seeks a Multi-Modality CT Technologist to perform CT and diagnostic exams under physician orders. You will prep patients, obtain images with the correct protocol, and provide clear explanations to patients while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements include ARRT Radiology (R) and CT certifications, CPR/BLS, and CT experience preferred. Rotating four 10-hour shifts with weekend, call, and holiday coverage are expected.

• Ability to follow ALARA and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures and select appropriate protocols.
• Prepare equipment, maintain supplies, and document exams per policy.
• Ensure safety, comply with ALARA, and report variances to supervision.
• Coordinate patient care and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Support regulatory and accreditation standards and call rotations.

Call and holiday coverage is required.OverviewThe Multi-Modality CT Technologist in hospital setting is responsible for performing CT and diagnostic exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all radiology and CT exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.What you will doAssists radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures. Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
