Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital is seeking a Multi-Modality CT Technologist to perform CT and diagnostic exams in a hospital setting. You will assist radiologists, select protocols for optimal imaging, and handle patient prep, IV insertions, and contrast injections while maintaining compliance with safety standards.

The role requires ARRT Radiology and ARRT CT certifications on hire, CPR/BLS certification, and weekend call requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with CT imaging procedures (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of radiology safety and ALARA principles.
• Strong patient communication and comfort explaining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures and select appropriate protocol for optimal images.
• Provide patient prep and explain exams; respond to questions about the process.
• Ensure equipment readiness, safety checks, and proper documentation per policy.
• Maintain inventory of supplies to prevent service interruptions and support patient care.

Call and Holidays required.****Overview** The Multi-Modality CT Technologist in hospital setting is responsible for performing CT and diagnostic exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all radiology and CT exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation. **What you will do*** Assists radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures. Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.* Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.* Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.* Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
