Job summary

The Medical Assistant Float supports physicians as they evaluate and treat patients. It manages patient flow and conducts diagnostic tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs. The role requires working regularly at 3+ locations in the assigned area.

Minimum qualifications include a NJ-accredited medical assisting program (330 hours) and a HS diploma, with CMA certification within 180 days. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited NJ medical assisting program with 330+ hours; injections training included.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; HIPAA knowledge.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and verify identity.
• Record vitals, assist with exams and basic procedures (EKG, venipuncture, injections).
• Maintain inventory and order supplies for the area.
• Ensure HIPAA privacy and security compliance.
