Job summary

Confidential bakery brand seeks a Controller to manage multi-entity accounting across 12+ entities in Utah. You will own AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, delivering clear analyses to ownership.

You will build scalable accounting processes, monitor cash flow and vendor relations, and partner with operations to drive profitability. Strong detail orientation and cross-entity coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting experience in a growing business environment.
• Experience working with multiple entities, locations, departments, or business units.
• Ability to own AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month end close.
• Comfort managing high volume accounting details with accuracy.
• Understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and controls.
• Ability to support transactional and higher level financial analysis.
• Organizational skills to keep multiple entities clean and current.
• Practical, business-minded approach to accounting and finance.
• Ability to explain financial information to non-finance leaders.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and entity-level reporting.
• Experience with external CPA, payroll, lenders, or investors.

Responsibilities

• Multi-entity accounting across a dozen plus entities; maintain clean books and records.
• Own AP/AR workflows, vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and schedules.
• Support month-end close, banking references, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Develop repeatable processes to improve consistency and accuracy.
• Prepare statements and management reports; track key business metrics.
• Build financial analysis to inform ownership and operators.
• Collaborate with operations on profitability improvements and budgeting.
• Coordinate with tax partners, payroll, and outside accounting resources.
• Help owners understand cash needs, timing, and priorities.
