Job summary

3M in Alexandria, MN is hiring a Multi-Craft Technician to troubleshoot, repair and install production equipment, including motors and drives. You will work from diagrams, use tools, and operate in cramped or elevated locations while collaborating with operators, process engineers and plant leadership.

Qualifications include an associate degree or HS diploma with maintenance experience plus Rockwell PLC and drive programming skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Mechatronics (completed prior to start).
• Or HS diploma/GED with 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Rockwell PLC and drive programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and/or install production equipment (motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, clutches, pumps, drives) from diagrams and manuals.
• Operate hand and power tools and shop equipment (drill, lathe, mill, grinder, welder, conduit bender).
• Access equipment in cramped or elevated locations using ladders, lifts or roofs.
• Apply mechanical/electrical/electronic theory to control systems and mechanicals.
• Communicate with operators, process engineers and plant leadership.
• Support continuous improvement by implementing operator ideas.
