Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, Inc. in Morristown, TN seeks a Multi-Craft Pipefitter to join the Operations team. The role focuses on laying out, assembling, installing and maintaining pipe systems and supports for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, compressed air and industrial processing lines.

Cross-training across trades is expected. The position reports to the Multi-Craft Pipefitter Foreman and is non-exempt; the work involves physical labor in an industrial environment with safety as a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems in standardized situations.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in an industrial environment with safety as a priority and variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread and assemble pipe to specifications using saws, torch, threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes and fittings by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets and welding equipment.
• Inspect, test, and measure pipe systems and layouts for conformance to specs.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Perform cross-training across trades as needed by customer requirements.
• Other duties in related crafts may be required.
