Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, Inc. seeks a Multi-Craft Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and industrial processing equipment. Cross-training across millwrighting, welding, sheet metal, and civil trades is emphasized.

Responsibilities include pipe fabrication, installation, testing, and ensuring alignment with specifications. The role involves physical work and adherence to safety standards in a non-exempt environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.
