Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, part of EMCOR Group, Inc., seeks a Multi-Craft Millwright to install, dismantle, and move heavy machinery and equipment per layout plans and blueprints on-site. You will work across trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, and sheet metal, performing alignment and commissioning tasks with safety best practices.

The role requires interpreting drawings and assembling foundations, with a background of high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 2–4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machines.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers, airbags, and fork trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
• Constructs foundations for machines; inserts shims, adjusts nuts/bolts, or positions parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoist, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

Education
