Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, an EMCOR Group company, is seeking a Multi-Craft Millwright to install, dismantle, and move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout and rigging plans. You will work across trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, and sheet metal, with a focus on precision alignment and safe operation of forklifts and lifting gear.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years’ related experience; cross-training across trades is expected to meet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 2-4 years related experience
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Cross-training across trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc.

Responsibilities

• Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machines.
• Moves machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers, airbags, and fork trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
• Constructs foundation for machines; insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
• Aligns machines and equipment, using hoist, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
• Uses various hand tools, power tools, torches, and welders.
• Operates Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, and Boom Lifts.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.
