Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and run CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers to produce precision parts in a fast-paced environment.

You will interpret blueprints, select cutting tools, set tool offsets, and run first-article checks while ensuring tight tolerances and quality. Routine maintenance and safety compliance are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient in planning jobs from prints, setups, tooling choices, and inspection methods.
• Able to perform first-article checks and in-process inspections.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to plan each job.
• Choose, install, and replace cutting tools; confirm proper tool paths and engagement.
• Establish work and tool offsets; complete full machine setups.
• Run first-article checks and perform thorough in-process inspections.
• Measure features with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
• Make program edits and dial in tool wear to hold dimensions.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and suggest process improvements.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality requirements in a fast-paced environment.
