Multi‑Axis CNC Mill & Lathe Setup SpecialistLocation: Northern Cincy | Position Type: Full-Time | Shifts: 1st and 2nd openingsA day in this roleYou arrive on your shift, review the traveler and print, and plan your setup for a complex part. You select the right workholding and cutting tools, load programs, confirm work and tool offsets, and take a careful first cut. You verify dimensions with micrometers and indicators, make smart edits to G- and M-code at the control, and dial in feeds and speeds for finish and productivity. Through the run, you monitor tool wear, troubleshoot, and keep quality and production records up to date—leaving a clean, safe cell for the next operator.What you’ll doSet up and run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision components to print.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and job specifications to plan machining operations.Upload/download CNC programs and make on-control edits using G&M code.Establish work offsets, tool offsets, and optimal cutting parameters.Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding; verify machine geometry and alignment.Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and related gauges.Adjust processes to hold dimensions and tight tolerances; troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues.Work confidently across materials and complex geometries.Maintain accurate production and quality documentation; follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.Conduct routine machine maintenance and sustain a clean, organized work area.What makes you a matchProven experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment.Hands-on setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes, including multi-axis equipment (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).Fluency in G- and M-code with the ability to make edits at the control; experience uploading/downloading programs.Comfort reading blueprints and GD&T; strong understanding of tooling, workholding, offsets, speeds, and feeds.Competent with precision metrology (micrometers, calipers, indicators).Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting mindset, and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.PreferredExperience in both milling and turning.Background machining complex, tight-tolerance components.Familiarity with CNC programming/CAM software.Exposure to multiple CNC control platforms.Formal CNC training, technical education, or equivalent hands-on experience.Schedule1st Shift: Opening available2nd Shift: Opening availableCandidates should be comfortable working the assigned shift and maintaining consistent attendance in a production manufacturing environment.Ideal profileYou take a job from setup through steady production with minimal supervision.
