Job description

Step into the role that turns drawings into realityAs a Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician, you’ll own the journey from blueprint to finished metallic component. Your day begins at the bench, studying prints and specs, mapping out sequences, and confirming tolerances. From there, you’ll move to the machines—mills and lathes—setting fixtures, dialing in tooling, and running trial cuts to confirm accuracy before committing to production.A day in the lifeReview blueprints, sketches, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and operation order.Lay out work: measure, mark, and scribe reference points to guide subsequent machining.Select and align fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories across saws, mills, grinders, burning, and drilling equipment.Program and edit at the control as needed; set feeds, speeds, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut; execute trial runs to validate setup.Run parts and monitor operations to catch malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjust controls to bring work back into spec.Verify results with precision instruments—micrometers, depth mics, height gages, and gage blocks.Collaborate with engineers and production to resolve machining or assembly challenges; when necessary, create sketches or develop specs from general descriptions.Keep the shop safe and productive: follow safety procedures and complete preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues and coordinating repairs.Scope and impactYou will set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC equipment to produce precise metallic components to print. Quality is assured through rigorous measurement, sound troubleshooting, and close teamwork with engineering and production.ReportingDirect reports: NoneIndirect reports: NoneWhat you bringHigh School Diploma or equivalent5+ years in manufacturing with hands-on CNC machiningProficiency editing CNC programs (G-code/M-code)Strong blueprint reading for ID/OD diameters, surfaces, and basic geometriesAbility to machine to tight tolerances and verify with micrometers and depth micsPhysical capability to routinely lift 50+ lbs; comfortable working in narrow spaces, climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneelingExperience with stainless and tool steel alloys preferredTools and proficienciesGD&T interpretationCNC tooling selection and setup; changeovers for production runsTroubleshooting and root-cause thinkingPrecision measurement and hand metrology; advanced inspection and gagingG-code and M-code fluencyMachines & controlsCNC Mills: 3–4 axis VMCs (Fanuc, Haas)CNC Lathes: 2–4 axis (Haas)Work environmentRegularly involves standing, sitting, walking, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling, talking/hearing, and handling objects, tools, and equipment.Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Overtime may be required based on workload, including some weekdays and weekends.Primary duties are typically handled in an office setting with visits to the production site as needed.
