Theonics in Huntsville, AL is seeking a CNC machinist to set up and operate turning and milling centers to engineer specifications. You will read prints, CAD models, and apply tooling and cut strategies.

You will perform in‑process and final inspections, troubleshoot alarms, log part counts and offsets, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. This role offers day and night shifts and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining trade school or certification preferred.
• 2+ years as CNC machinist on mills and lathes.
• Solid grasp of CNC programming and G-code edits.
• Comfort with metrology (micrometers, calipers) and GD&T.
• Ability to read technical documentation and blueprints.
• Clear communicator with teamwork and problem-solving habits.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning and milling centers to meet engineering specifications.
• Interpret prints, CAD models, and define tooling, workholding, and cut strategy.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot alarms, surface finish issues, and dimensional drift; perform routine maintenance.
• Log part counts, offsets, and process notes for repeatability and traceability.
• Comply with safety procedures; keep machines and work areas organized.
