Job summary

Detroit Community Schools in Detroit is seeking a full-time MTSS Coordinator to lead the Multi-Tiered System of Supports and drive academic interventions. You will guide teachers, monitor progress, and ensure data-informed decisions across Tier 2/3 interventions.

The role requires Michigan teaching certification and a Reading Specialist endorsement or related area, with collaboration across classrooms, families, and MTSS meetings to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Michigan Teacher certification.
• Reading Specialist endorsement or related area preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and interventions aligned with MTSS program addressing the academic needs of the student.
• Work with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to create and ensure appropriate academic interventions for struggling students.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and guide instructional decisions.
• Facilitate data reviews and oversee placement of students into appropriate Tier 2/Tier 3 Interventions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes for MTSS meetings.
• Collaborate with and educate families to ensure effective communication and involve them in the intervention process.
• Participate in ongoing training related to MTSS best practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
