Job summary

Willard Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Support Paraprofessional to support elementary administrators and teachers with Tier 2/3 behavior management and SEL within MTSS. The role emphasizes collaboration, confidentiality, and data-informed decision making.

The paraprofessional will work under building administration, assisting with behavior resources, data collection, and implementing strategies to foster inclusive classrooms and student achievement.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma, 60 college credits, or passing Missouri paraprofessional test.
• Experience related to MTSS paraprofessional role preferred.
• Background check satisfactory to Board of Education; strong written, oral, organizational, time management and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an effective team member across settings to promote student success.
• Contributes information and assists with planning, problem solving and decision making.
• Assists with the preparation of behavioral resources.
• Supports students and teachers in implementing behavior strategies and data-informed decisions.
• Supervises students during instruction and activities for individuals and groups.
• Assists with behavior support plans that respect differences and foster achievement.
• Performs tasks to enhance learning environment.
• Provides supervision in in-school suspension and communicates with teachers.
• Participates in MTSS team meetings and professional growth.
• Supervises students in cafeteria, recess, arrivals/dismissals as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality of students, families, and classroom activities.
• Performs routine instructional and behavioral support tasks and uses assistive technology.
• Meets district health and safety guidelines for the position.
