Job summary

The Aberdeen School District is actively seeking an MTSS Assistant to support students under the supervision of teachers and specialists. The role involves assisting with academic and social/behavioral goals within the MTSS framework, working in small groups, and contributing to individual instruction in both special and general education settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree, 72 college credits or pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Post high school training in child development and related training desired.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking required.
• Skills Test – For Math and/or Reading Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to students within the MTSS framework in academic and social/behavioral domains.
• Works with students in small and large groups and individually.
• Assists teachers in implementing lesson plans and developing behavioral skills.
• Adapts classroom work and homework under teacher direction.
• Maintains equipment and student files for safe learning environments.
• Monitors student activities to ensure safety and address needs.
• Performs clerical tasks and helps with home–school communications.
• Uses de-escalation techniques when needed in various settings.
• Assists in developing materials for IEP/504 implementation.
• Collects progress data under teacher guidance.
