Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs.

You will work one-on-one with students, assist in implementing IEP goals, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver behavior support and life skills instruction. You will help record data, implement de-escalation techniques when needed, and communicate with parents to ensure consistency across settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in the development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages the development of appropriate social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored, including to and from appropriate school locations.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
