Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking an SEBH Intervention Specialist to support the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. This role is crucial in providing access to behavioral and social-emotional interventions for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.

The specialist will work collaboratively with education staff to enhance student success through structured coaching, data-driven strategies, and compliance with special education regulations. The position emphasizes advocacy and support for all students.

Qualifications

• Experience in special education, particularly in implementing FBAs, BIPs, and behavior management strategies.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and other special education regulations.
• Valid Iowa Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead Tier 3 systems meetings and individual student meetings.
• Collaborate with Special Education teachers to create individualized BIPs.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
