Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is hiring a Social Worker (MSW) to conduct biopsychosocial assessments for inpatient units and the emergency department. The role includes crisis intervention, post-acute placement, and facilitating Family Care Conferences, all while supporting patient-centered discharge planning.

The position emphasizes understanding Medicare/Medicaid regulations, managed-care concepts, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient and family care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
• 1+ years’ experience or MSW Internship required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred
• Certification in Social Work preferred
• Ability to deliver information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
• Ability to break down data into component parts to analyze and identify underlying issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-clinical, biopsychosocial assessments and interventions for inpatient floors and ED.
• Conduct crisis intervention and high-risk screenings with patients and families.
• Arrange post-acute care placement and facilitate Family Care Conferences.
• Support patient-family centered care and problem-solving.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/private payer regulations and length-of-stay concepts.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
