Job summary

Merrimack College invites applications for one 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice in the Master of Social Work program. The faculty member will teach on-campus and online courses, advise students, and contribute to program development, beginning Spring 2027.

A MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and a doctoral degree are required. The position requires teaching 8 courses across fall and spring, evening on-campus duties, and active engagement in the program and college

Qualifications

• MSW from CSWE-accredited program or equivalent as defined by CSWE.
• Doctorate in Social Work or EdD/PhD in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years full-time post-MS W experience in social work practice; minimum 3 years teaching on-campus/online in MSW.

Responsibilities

• Teach a total of 8 courses across fall and spring semesters, on-campus after 4:00 pm and online where applicable.
• Provide academic advising and supervise graduate students in the MSW program.
• Contribute to MSW program development, governance, and related tasks as assigned by the Dean.
• Participate in faculty meetings and programmatic tasks within the Graduate School of Counseling and Social Work.
