Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks an Associate Director MSOB Building & Event Services to oversee Miller Hall operations and event support. You will manage dining, housekeeping, room scheduling, procurement, records, storage, security, and parking while coordinating high-level campus events with campus partners.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong customer service, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a public, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications.
• Proven customer service mindset with internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience with event planners and large functions.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Knowledge of procurement policies and purchasing procedures.
• Experience with fiscal administration and budget tracking.
• Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety).

Responsibilities

• Operate and coordinate MSOB Building & Event Services to ensure seamless facility operations.
• Manage parking, supplies, invoices, and reporting with campus departments and vendors.
• Oversee Miller Hall events, room layouts, A/V, housekeeping, and scheduling.
• Lead fiscal/admin tasks including expenditures, budgets, and procurement.
• Serve as point of contact for emergencies and building access control.
