Job summary

Helms College is seeking a dedicated Multi-Skilled Medical Assistant (MSMA) Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction to students pursuing healthcare careers on a full-time, 52-week basis at our Macon campus.

The role requires afternoon/evening hours (12:00 PM–10:30 PM), occasional Saturdays for events, and a background in clinical practice. Ideal candidates have CMA/RMA/CCMA or RN/LPN/BSN credentials, three years of recent medical facility experience, and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program with certificate, diploma, or degree.
• Three years of recent experience in a medical facility.
• Certified or registered (CMA, RMA, CCMA, RN, LPN, BSN) or able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

This is a full-time, 52-week, campus-based position requiring a flexible afternoon/evening Monday through Friday schedule. Typical work hours fall between 12:00 PM and 10:30 PM, with an occasional Saturday event such as graduation, job fairs, and skills workshops.The ideal candidate will be passionate about student success and bring both clinical expertise and real-world experience from a medical office setting. This role plays a key part in preparing students for industry certification, job readiness, and ethical service in healthcare environments.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Deliver engaging instruction in accordance with the approved MSMA curriculumMaintain classroom and clinical lab environments that promote hands-on learningProvide regular feedback, guidance, and support to studentsParticipate in campus events such as open houses, graduation, and student enrichment activitiesMaintain accurate attendance, grading, and student recordsDemonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to Helms College’s missionEnsure compliance with institutional, accreditation, and industry standardsCollaborate with faculty and staff to support student retention and completionRequired Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited medical program, having earned a certificate, diploma, or degreeThree (3) years of recent experience in a medical facilityMust be certified or registered (CMA, RMA, or CCMA, RN, LPN, BSN), or able to obtain certification within 90 days of hireAvailability to work afternoon and evening hours (12:00 PM – 10:30 PM) Monday through Friday, plus occasional SaturdaysStrong communication skills and a sincere passion for helping students achieve their goalsPreferred Qualifications:Associate’s degree or higher in a healthcare-related fieldExperience working in a medical office setting (e.g., front desk, clinical support, patient coordination)Prior teaching or training experience (formal or informal)Knowledge of adult learning principles and career readiness practices
