Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis invites applications for a Middle School Math Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy in St.

Louis, MO. The teacher will plan and deliver standards-based mathematics instruction for grades 6-8 and support students' academic and spiritual growth. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mathematics or education, a valid teaching certification, and experience with middle school mathematics, educational technology, and data-driven instruction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid teaching certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
  • Experience teaching middle school mathematics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective mathematics instruction aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations.
  • Develop lesson plans that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and educational technology to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school personnel regarding academic progress and student needs.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.
  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the educational experience when appropriate.
  • Supervise students during assigned duties and school activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or school administration.

Job Summary

The Middle School Math Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction to students in grades 6-8. The teacher fosters a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and student growth. This position supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students while upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.
