Responsibilities
- Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocol, optimize technical factors, and maximize patient safety while applying ALARA principles.
- Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality, verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, and post‑process data when applicable.
- Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
- Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risk to patients, staff, and others.
- Assist the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and perform imaging procedures as prescribed.
- Select appropriate pulse sequences, considering established protocols and factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
- Participate in MRI safety implant investigation and approval processes.
- Comply with all organization policies and procedures and satisfy all job‑specific obligations.
Qualifications
- One of the following certifications is required upon hire: American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- New graduates must obtain ARRT‑R registry or primary ARRT‑MR or NMTCB or ARMRIT prior to the first day of employment.
- Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete advanced certification (level2) within 24months.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required); Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Preferred).
- Minimum of 1year of related work experience (Preferred).
- Basic Life Support certification (default issuing body).
- Certified MRI Technologist (ARMRIT), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), Radiography (R) – ARRT.
