Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support Certification needed.
  • Full proficiency in all assigned duties expected.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct order is obtained and patient confidentiality is respected.
  • Utilize imaging protocol and optimize technical factors for safety.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality.
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.

Job Summary

Up to $25,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures.

Job Duties
  • Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified, and clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety and applying ALARA principles.
  • Prepare and administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality, verify archival storage and transfer of data, and post‑process data when applicable.
  • Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
  • Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Assist the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed.
  • Select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other influencing parameters.
  • Participate in modality quality and process improvement activities.
  • Account for all job‑specific obligations and comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and (ARRT)-MR or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or primary ARRT-MR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body.
  • Certified MRI Technologist – ARMRIT.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – NMTCB.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist RT(R)(MR) – ARRT.
  • Radiography (R) – ARRT.
  • Full proficiency in all assigned routine and complex job duties.
