Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking an MRI Technologist to independently perform MRI procedures in a clinical setting. You will prepare patients, verify orders, apply radiation safety principles, and optimize imaging protocols to deliver high-quality studies.

Responsibilities include image quality assessment, data management, teaching students and staff, assisting interventional MRI, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold MR specialization certifications from ARRT or NMTCB.
• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program required; related bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure patient safety following ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate images for quality, verify data storage, and perform data post-processing if needed.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare staff.
• Apply safety principles to minimize risks to patients and staff.
• Assist with interventional MRI procedures and select suitable pulse sequences.
• Participate in quality and process improvement activities.

MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within magnetic fields to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They independently conduct MRI procedures, acquire and analyze data, and assist licensed practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing patients, ensuring proper identification, optimizing imaging protocols, and applying safety principles to minimize risks. They evaluate image quality, manage data transfer, and may administer medications as prescribed. Additionally, they educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, support interventional procedures, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Candidates must hold certifications from recognized bodies such as the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB), with MR specialization. A graduate of a Radiologic Technology program is required; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred. Proficiency in routine and complex duties, safety adherence, and organizational priorities are essential.
