Job summary

The MRI Technologist I at Atrium Health Cabarrus - MRI: Gateway Diagnostic Center performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and related equipment with proficiency. PRN, as needed, part-time status with a pay range of $42.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include order verification, patient preparation, medical history review, IV contrast administration, image quality evaluation, and collaboration with Radiologists, while upholding radiation

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program; registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders with Radiologist before performing exam.
• Identify and assist patients with explanations of procedures.
• Review EMR for pertinent medical history and record requisitions.
• Perform MRI scanning and assist during invasive procedures.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and manage infection control.
• Operate radiology computer systems and document contrast administration.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintain a clean work area.
