Job summary

University of Kansas Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role involves participation in ongoing training on positioning, technique and MR safety guidelines across multiple facilities within the health system.

The candidate should have AMA-approved radiologic technology education, ARRT MR certification within 180 days, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or MR Imaging.
• High school diploma is preferred.
• ARRT MR certification within 180 days of hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• ARRT Radiography certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality MR images with attention to patient safety.
• Prepare patients and assist during MR examinations.
• Perform venipuncture and manage IV access as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols.
• Evaluate image quality and verify patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines and screen access.
• Educate and mentor students and other staff as assigned.
• Assist with ongoing QA and educational activities.
• Other duties as required.
