Job summary

University of Kansas Health System seeks an MRI Technologist for Bell Hospital to produce high-quality MR images while prioritizing patient safety. You will participate in ongoing training on positioning, technique and MR safety guidelines across multiple health system locations.

The role requires strong knowledge of anatomy, the ability to prepare patients, perform venipuncture, select pulse sequences, review image quality and ensure correct patient identification.

Qualifications

• Radiologic Technology AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging.
• High School Graduate.
• MR imaging certification within 180 days.
• BLS/BCLS certification upon hire.
• ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and MR technique.
• Prepare patients for procedures and attend to patient needs during examinations.
• Perform venipuncture, manage IV access, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Select MR pulse sequences per established protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Evaluate images for quality and proper patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines, screen patients, and monitor MR areas.
• Identify and respond to emergency situations, and support QA activities.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
