Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to produce high-quality MR images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will participate in ongoing training on positioning, technique, and MR safety, with procedures across multiple locations within the health system.

Required ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification within 180 days of hire and BLS; AMA-approved Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging program completion is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or MR Imaging program.
• Preferred high school graduate.
• ARRT MR or ARMRIT MRI certification within 180 days of hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and address patient needs during examinations.
• Perform venipuncture and manage IV access as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols and data acquisition needs.
• Evaluate MR images for quality and accuracy; ensure patient identification.
• Adhere to ACR MR safety guidelines and screen MR staff and patients.
• Identify and respond to emergencies and participate in ongoing QA activities.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Other duties as assigned by the unit or department.
