Job summary

University of Kansas Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to produce quality MR images while delivering excellent patient care. The role supports safety guidelines, participates in ongoing training, and performs MR procedures across multiple locations with a patient-centered focus.

The candidate will perform venipuncture, select pulse sequences, and ensure image quality, while educating other health care providers and students.

Qualifications

• Understand anatomy and MR technique; patient positioning.
• Venipuncture, IV access, and administration of medications as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols and acquisition parameters.
• Evaluate images for quality and correct patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines and restrict MR area access.
• Apply MR safety principles to minimize risk to patients and staff.
• Identify and respond to emergencies.
• Participate in QA and educational activities; educate students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Understand anatomy and MR technique; patient positioning.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during MR exams.
• Perform venipuncture, IV access, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences per protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Evaluate images for quality and patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines and MR access control.
• Apply MR safety principles to minimize risk to patients and others.
• Identify and respond to emergencies on site.
• Engage in ongoing QA and education; mentor students and staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.
