Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI technologist for the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital MRI department. This PRN/part-time role covers am, PM and overnight shifts. The position involves patient positioning, MRI data processing, and ensuring safety and quality of scans.

Responsibilities include charting, billing data, and assisting with scheduling while maintaining strict imaging and safety standards. ARRT/ARMRIT certification and CPR are required or near-term completion.

Qualifications

• 2 yrs Radiology or MRI program graduate ARRT or ARMRIT
• 1 hour annually in stroke care
• Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and usual MRI procedures
• ARRT Registry or ARMRIT CPR Certification
• MRI Certification Preferred or within 12 months of hire into position (ARRT only)

Responsibilities

• Positioning and immobilization of patients and selection of technical factors for optimal MRI quality
• Post processing of data to enhance information and images
• Operates MRI support equipment and transfers patients to/from MRI table
• Obtains department documentation for records, charges, and inventory
• Secures patient history to inform radiologist and ensures exam criteria are met
• Maintains MRI safety standards, equipment logs, and attends safety in-services
