Job Summary of the MRI Technologist

Under supervision of the Director and Manager of Imaging Services, the MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI procedures for patients from infants to geriatrics. Responsibilities include preparing paperwork, maintaining technical and patient-care skills, ensuring quality results, managing supplies, and performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities of the MRI Technologist
  • Perform magnetic resonance procedures.
  • Photograph and format exams with clinical history.
  • Manage patient flow and examinations.
  • Communicate findings to radiologists.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked department.
  • Interact with patients, physicians, families, and staff daily.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications of the MRI Technologist

Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree.
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Preferred: One year of radiologic tech experience.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current ARRT Advanced Registry in MRI.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred: One year of MRI experience, Texas Medical Board license, and additional registry credentials.
