Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI technologist for the Atrium Health Cabarrus MRI department in Concord, NC. This full-time role involves performing comprehensive MRI exams, verifying orders, preparing patients, and documenting procedures.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT, BLS, and strong knowledge of MRI safety. Expect a 40-hour week with benefits eligibility and a competitive pay range of $35.50–$53.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• MRI technologist with ARRT MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT program
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development appropriate to patient population

Responsibilities

• Examine requests, verify orders, and refer discrepancies to Radiologist
• Identify patients and prepare them for MRI procedures with explanations
• Review patient history and EMR to obtain clinical history and relevant data
• Perform MRI exams from start to finish and ensure dictated results are completed
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol and document usage
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in patient condition
• Operate MRI equipment and ensure sterile technique
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and maintain equipment safety
• Coordinate with anesthesia when needed during MRI procedures
• Maintain MRI safety for staff and patients around magnetic fields
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervision and engineering
• Maintain a clean, stocked work area and assist other medical personnel
• Maintain knowledge of MRI safety and department policies
