Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI technologist in Kannapolis, NC to operate MRI equipment, verify orders, and prepare patients for procedures. You will collaborate with Radiologists to ensure accurate exams and patient safety, following radiation safety and infection control policies.

The position requires MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT, BLS, and the ability to work a 7a-7p schedule on Tue, Thu, Sat. Sign-on bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits are described in the department

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire. BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders and refer questions to Radiologist before exams.
• Identify patients with two identifiers and prepare them with explanations of procedures.
• Interview patients for medical history and document in requisitions.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from start to finish and dictate results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol and document amounts.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed; perform additional reconstructions.
• Provide basic patient care and assist during emergencies; follow safety protocols.
• Perform MRI scanning and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Obtain medications or contrast as directed by a licensed practitioner.
• Maintain MRI safety around magnetic fields and report equipment issues.
