Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Radiologist Technologist to maintain high-quality patient care within the Diagnostic Radiology department. You will perform radiographs, manage contrast administration, and document orders and reactions in the hospital system.

The role requires ARRT registration or eligibility and BLS certification, with preferred experience as a radiologic technologist. The position is based in Virginia Beach in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
• ARRT registration or eligibility required; must be registered within three months.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique.
• Administer contrast media per department policy.
• Utilize Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and document reactions.
• Enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and credits in the hospital system.
• Review patient charts to confirm physician orders and follow protocols.
• Adhere to radiation safety policies to minimize exposure (ALARA).
• Educate patients and families about exams, treatment, and outcomes.
• Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report equipment issues.
