Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, NE seeks a part-time MRI Technologist to perform scans and support patient care across the West Hospital location.

You will ensure safety, manage contrast administration when indicated, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver high-quality imaging while upholding department standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-accredited radiologic technology program.
• ARRT Radiography and MRI certification within 90 days of hire.
• CPR certification required.
• When in Cognitive Neuroscience, BLS within 90 days and CITI within 30 days.

Responsabilités

• Operates MRI scanner per safety procedures and patient screening.
• Verifies patient, site, positioning, and protocol parameters for scans.
• Positions patients using immobilization devices for MRI.
• Administers contrast when indicated and educates patients.
• Sends images to PACS and demonstrates basic PACS knowledge.
• Evaluates image quality and correctly labels images.
• Routes images and history to interpreting radiologist electronically.
• Ensures correct charging of procedures and supplies.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Upholds radiology service standards and patient education.

Job Summary

In a career as an MRI Technologist, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will complete a variety of tasks involved in the performance of MRI scans.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of the MRI scanner in accordance with prescribed MRI safety procedures, including all patient screening procedures.
• Assures that for all scans correct patient, imaging site, patient positioning, correct protocols and scan parameters are verified.
• Positions and instructs patients for MRI scans using immobilization, support, and protective devices.
• Administers contrast media, if indicated; screens and educates patients regarding contrast media, possible reactions, and post procedure contrast instructions; implements emergency procedures in response to contrast media reactions.
• Able to successfully send images to PACS and demonstrate basic knowledge of PACS software.
• Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality, collates processed images, in sequence of exposure, and appropriately labels.
• Routes images and appropriate history electronically to the interpreting radiologist.
• Ensures correct charging of procedures and supplies.
• Participates in department performance improvement and survey readiness activities.
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Radiology service standards.
• Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an AMA approved, accredited School of Radiologic Technology or an Education in Radiologic Technology from an approved program in the U.S. Military required.
• ARRT in Radiography and MRI within 90-days of transfer or hire required.
• CPR Certified required.
• If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of transfer or hire required.
• If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.
