Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Houston is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist Lead to oversee high-quality MRI examinations and patient safety. You will supervise the MRI section staff, coordinate clinical operations, and ensure compliance with JCAHO/DNV and other regulations.

You will perform and supervise MRI procedures, manage image quality control, and collaborate with management to meet department goals while delivering a reassuring patient experience in a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

  • Certificate from accredited MRI program and ARRT MR registration required.
  • State of Texas MRT registration upon hire.
  • Three years MRI experience required.
  • BLS certification required.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist Lead, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Performs all Functions of an MRI Technologist position.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, safety, technical, and quality aspects of the Radiology MRI section.
  • Provides direction of section Leads and staff on coordinating clinical and technical operations in the MRI Department of Radiology, in accordance with institutional, and state and federal standards.
  • Assists in reviewing and revising department policies and procedures to ensure continuity in compliance with JCAHO/DNV and other regulatory requirements
  • Works with the management on achieving department goals and objectives; promotes teamwork between staff.
  • Supervises, Performs and/or Assists with the performance of MRI procedures, the processing and quality control of images, transportation and coordination of patients and related duties of technologists and ancillary personnel.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Certificate from accredited MRI program and Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ‑ ARRT (MR), upon hire or
  • Registered by the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists ‑ ARRT (R)(MR); must maintain currentand certified by State of Texas ‑ MRT, upon hire and
  • Three (3) years of MRI experience, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire
