Job summary

St. Luke’s Health–Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, TX is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced imaging department.

You will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, and capture detailed anatomical images while maintaining strong patient communication and comfort throughout the diagnostic process.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and MRI credentials (RTMR or ARMRIT).
• TX Medical Radiographer license or eligibility to obtain it.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations with attention to safety and image clarity.
• Prepare patients for scans and monitor comfort and safety before, during, and after the exam.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure they understand involvement of the exam.
• Position patients and provide preparation guidance for MRI tests.
• Apply knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI terminology.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
• Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
• Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures.
• Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems.

Required Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) or ARMRIT MRI.
• Medical Radiographer: TX (MRAD:TX).
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Other in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies.
• 1-3 years One year of MR experience.
• Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire.
