Job summary

Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams, prepare patients, operate advanced MRI equipment, and ensure safety in the magnetic environment.

You will capture detailed anatomical images with meticulous attention to image quality and patient comfort. The role requires strict MRI safety protocols, proper patient communication, and up-to-date ARRT MRI or ARRT Radiography credentials within 9 months, plus BLS certification at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate upon hire.
• Registered Technologist MRI or ARRT Radiography/ARMRIT MRI within 9 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, staff and visitors.
• Monitor patient condition before and after the scan for safety and comfort.
• Explain testing procedures to patient to ensure understanding of the exam.
• Position and instruct patient regarding MRI preparation.
• Knowledge of head, thorax and abdomen anatomy, MRI terminology and procedures.
• Familiar with specific MRI coding systems.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

• Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
• Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
• Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures
• Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems
