Job summary

Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Texas is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI examinations and support diagnostic imaging workflows. You will prepare patients, operate advanced MRI equipment, and ensure safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

The role requires strong MRI expertise, attention to detail, and excellent patient communication to deliver high-quality imaging for accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies required.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR) required.
  • Medical Radiographer license: TX required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required (within 14 days).
  • RTMR/RTCT or ARMRIT MRI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations.
  • Prepare patients and operate MRI equipment.
  • Ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment.
  • Capture detailed anatomical images with accuracy.
  • Enforce magnetic field safety for patients, operators, and visitors.
  • Monitor patient condition before and after scans to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Explain procedures to patients and obtain informed involvement.
  • Position and instruct patients for MRI prep.
  • Maintain knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI terminology.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
  • Monitors the patient's condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
  • Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures
  • Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems
Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR)
  • Medical Radiographer: TX
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) or Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (RTCT) or ARMRIT MRI (ARMRIT)
Preferred
  • 1-3 years one year of MR experience
