Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an MRI Technologist to prepare patients and perform MRI procedures per physician orders. The role emphasizes high-quality imaging, safety, and seamless coordination with radiologists for timely interpretation.

The position requires 6 months of MRI experience, CPR certification, and ARRT/MRIT MRI credentials within a year. Work schedule includes Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm with rotating holidays and on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Six months’ relevant experience required (minimum of three in MRI)
• American Heart Association CPR required
• Advanced level certification by the ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI within one year of hire date

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for MRI examinations by confirming physicians’ orders and verifying identities.
• Performs MRI examinations on all patient age groups and maintains competency through Orientation Tool.
• Greets patients and addresses needs confidentially and efficiently.
• Answers telephones courteously and facilitates MRI communications.
• Maintains safety and MRI environment for patients and staff.
• Manages inventory and restocks supplies as needed.
• Documents patient and procedural data for billing and department records.
• Participates in performance improvement activities using PDCA cycle.
• Remains proficient in Radiology and information systems as needed.
