Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures and produce high-quality images in accordance with physician orders. You will prepare patients, review histories, and present results to Radiologists for timely interpretation.

The role requires MRI competency, CPR certification, and ARRT/MRMRIT certification within one year of hire. You will work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts and on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Six months’ relevant experience required (minimum of three in MRI or successful completion of cross-training)
• American Heart Association CPR required.
• Advanced ARRT or ARMRIT MRI certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for MRI examinations by confirming orders, verifying identities, and obtaining medical histories.
• Performs MRI examinations on all patient age groups and maintains competency per policy.
• Greets patients and caregivers professionally and addresses needs efficiently.
• Answers telephones courteously and facilitates Radiology communications.
• Maintains a safe environment and adheres to MRI safety practices.
• Manages inventory and ensures continuity of supplies for MRI.
• Documents patient data and procedures for accurate billing and records.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities for MRI using PDCA methodology.
• Maintains proficiency in Radiology and organizational information systems.
